To get rid of the most difficult stains, Valmour puts several products at your disposal.
In all cases, begin by applying Cleaning Regenerating Soap AVEL to clean and open the pores of the leather, then continue according to the types of stains :
- Various Stains : use Renomat to eliminate grime and the surplus of wax, and Liquid Stain Remover Hussard for tar, paint, pine resin and chewing gum... stains.
- Ink Stains : Sometimes, to obtain a satisfactory result, the use of different products might be necessary. Remove eventually remaining rebellious stains (ball-point, ink...) with Stain Remover Ball-Point AVEL. If the result is not satisfactory, try again with Rénomat. Its effectiveness also depending on the type of finishing of the leather, the stain can be resistant, in which case it is possible to use Stripper Saphir. It is the radical solution by which you also risk to eliminate the original shade. Re-pigmentation might become necessary. If only a small area is concerned, consult the advice cards "Re-colouring a Scratch", otherwise "Re-pigmenting a Leather Sofa".
- Liquid Greasy Stains : If the stain is greasy, apply Terre de Sommières AVEL to absorb most of it (if necessary, cover with an absorbant paper and warm up with the help of an iron in order to take off the maximum). Eliminate the rest with Stain Remover HUSSARD Spray Leather and Textile.
- Dry Greasy Stains : to eliminate the stains of grease, oil, sebum (or seborrhoea : dark marks in particular on the areas where you rest your head), use Stain Remover HUSSARD Spray Leather and Textiles.
- Stains of snow, salt, water, perspiration : use Stain Remover Hiver Winter SAPHIR.
Remarks :
- After the cleaning your leather will be dry. Take the precaution of nourishing it with one of our leather renovating balms.
Choose either a liquid, a paste, a wax or a cream:
1- Liquid Renovating Balm AVEL cleans, nourishes but also re-colours. Available in 20 shades. Its
presentation makes it the product most easy to use.
2- Renovating Balm Paste AVEL cleans, nourishes and protects. Available in neutral only.
3- Leather Care Wax Spray AVEL cleans and nourishes. The spray is very practical for braided or perforated leather.
4- Cream Renovator AVEL cleans, nourishes, protects, and re-colours. Available in 18 shades. The product with the strongest re-colouring power.

Ball-Point Ink Stain Remover AVEL
Ball-point ink stain remover for treated (non porous) leather. Apply on stain with a cotton swab. Attention, some inks are indelible. The pigmentation of certain leathers is not fixed well and can get discoloured by the stain remover. Therefore we recommend testing the product on a hidden part.
