Re-colouring Fine Leather Goods (in matching tones)

To re-colour fine leather goods in matching tones, the AVEL products allow you to use a procedure similar to leather finishing in the tanning industry. These products can be applied on all smooth and non varnished leathers .

1- Cleaning : use Cleaning Regenerating Soap AVEL to prepare the leather (this step is essential, like washing your hands before applying a cream). In case of sebum stains on the handles, use Stain Remover Hussard Spray.  
If the leather is particularly dirty, please consult the following advice card "Removing Stains From Fine Leather Goods" ( pay particular attention to sebum stains).

2- Re-pigmenting :
In case of very light superficial discolourations, use Cream Renovator Avel to care for your leather item. It is rich enough in waxes to eliminate scratches on the surface and rich in pigments to refresh the colour. It will nourrish the leather and is adapted to provide every-day care. For easy application, use a Spreading Brush Saphir. Renovating Cream Saphir can be used as acomplement if necessary.
Otherwise, please proceed as follows: if your leather has never received any care and nourishment, it is often very dry. Before recolouring, rehydrate your leather for a much better result. In this case, we recommend after cleaning to nourrish your leather with Delicate Cream Polish Saphir, an acqueous formula which hydrates and openes the leather pores, to prevent rings and for easier cleaning in case of excess product or a wrong colour.
Once the leather is clean, dry and greaseless, you can start to re-pigment your leather. Choose among the following products :
  - Renovating Cream SAPHIR for only lightly discolorated leather and small surfaces to be treated like scratches or scuff marks. The result won't be as long-lasting as the following solutions, but can be satisfactory.
  - JUVACUIR which re-pigments, renovates and embellishes your fine leather goods. Very fluid, easy to apply, fast drying, allows a homogeneous application, and the most economical solution.
  - Pigmenting Cream AVEL, the top quality product for re-pigmenting your leather. Afterwards, each coat must be fixed with the with the help of its Pigmenting Cream Fixing Liquid AVEL.
  - Leather Dye TENAX Saphir Spray, which can be useful for less valuable items, or if you cannot find the colour amongst the previously mentioned products. However, the colouring  will be of inferior quality. 

 3 - Protection : Finally, protect your fine leather goods with Invulner Protector which waterproofs the leather and protects it against  penetration of all types of dirt.
