Scratches and cracks on leather car seats can be removed or softened. First, make sure that your leather is completely clean and grease-free with the help of Cleaning Regenerating Soap AVEL. VALMOUR recommends several products, choose according to the following scenarios:
1- If the scratches are superficial, apply one of the balms listed below :
- Renovating Balm Paste AVEL cleans, nourishes and protects. Available in neutral only. High wax content, adapted for shiny leather.
- Cream Renovator AVEL cleans, nourishes, protects, and re-colours. Available in 20 shades. Product with the strongest re-colouring power, because it contains a high concentation of pigments and waxes (to help fill up scratches in the best way) . Recommended for leather aged between 5-15 years starting to show scratches and discolorations.
Based on mink oil and beeswax, these products renovate and nourish the leather, eliminate scratches and cracks and avoid tearing of the stitching and toughening of the leather.
2- In case of deeper (but not too numerous) scratches leaving the leather bare, opt for Renovating Cream Saphir. It is a very covering concentrate of pigments, ideal for a localized touch-up. Apply on leather which has been nourrished beforehand with a Renovating Balm for a uniform spreading and to prevent "color stains".
3- In case of many deep scratches, choose Pigmenting Cream AVEL and its Pigmenting Cream Fixing Liquid AVEL which re-pigments your leather in-depth, as if it were new. This method is more expensive but gives fantastic results. The colour of the dye can be made-to-order.
PS: To glue on leather fragments which have become detatched, use Leather Glue Valmour beforehand.
Afterwards, we strongly recommend to protect your leather regularly with Anti-Stain Leather Spray AVEL against foods stains, sebum deposit on headrests and dirt.
