FOREWORD :

To begin with, it is important to point out that the quality of cooking, the cleaning and maintenance (and the life span of your plancha) will be optimized if you choose a model with the following characteristics : 
- enamelled cast iron stovetop : the best quality  and therefore the most hard-wearing finish, but above all because enamel does not retain any odors and allows to cook a piece of meat after cooking sardines, for example. 
- adjustable stovetop to be able to eliminate grease and cooking juices for easy cleaning, but also for a healthier way of cooking. 
- stainless steel frame to make the plancha very resistant against bad weather conditions.

MAINTENANCE :

- Cleaning during the cooking process: 
To alternate between cooking very different types of food, you only need to deglaze with water. Pour a little water (or spirit vinegar) on the area where the food was cooked and scrape with our large Food Spatula. 
- Cleaning after use: 
Once the cooktop has cooled off, you can start to clean it. As shown in the video below, use the Stainless Steel Cleaning Pad  and our Environment-Friendly Plancha Cleaner, and afterwards rinse with water and a Sponge. Finally, wipe and dry withour Microfiber Cloth to make your plancha cooktop look as good as new again.

To clean the case which has been stained by grease spots, use our Stainles Steel Cleaning Spray and wipe with the Microfiber Cloth afterwards.

- Annual maintenance: 
For planchas made of enamelled cast iron, a cleaning with Environment-Friendly Plancha Cleaner is sufficient. Afterwards, stock your plancha under cover with our Plancha Protection Cover below.

 - Maintenance for steel planchas without enamel: in case of rust, brush first with a Steel Brass Brush, then with an Oval Horse Hair Brush Saphir to eliminate any loose rust. Afterwards, all areas which won't come in contact with food can be treated with Rust Remover Converter and repainted with our Tolemail Black Ironworks High Temperature Paint or Tolemail Silver High Temperature Paint.
