Changing the colour of a piece of Nubuck leather furniture is delicate for several raisons. If the change from a light to a dark colour is possible, we advise against the opposite. In addition, there could be problems of colour transfer (on clothes, for example) depending on the characteristics of the leather (quality, original finishing etc.). In any case we recommend a test on a hidden part of your leather with the help of our product packaging in small quantities.

Valmour recommends to proceed in 4 steps :

1- Cleaning : to begin with, thoroughly clean the leather and remove all stains to be able to work on a completely clean, greaseless and dry surface afterwards .

Start by  eliminating all traces of sebum ( a grease poduced by skin and hair) with Stain Remover HUSSARD Spray Leather and Textile. Let it work for an hour and then remove the product with your vacuum cleaner (the most practical solution).
Afterwards give the leather a thorough cleaning with OMNIDAIM Saphir and the Oval Brush Saphir, then wait until the leather is completely dry again.

2- Dyeing : afterwards, it is possible to change the colour. Valmour recommends  Teinture Française Aux Drapeaux Liquide. Easy application with a brush, but in case your velvety leather (suede or nubuck) absorbs the dye too fast to permit a uniform application, it is possible to use a spray gun or a 2 L Duster.
Test on a hidden part and check the absence of colour discharge with a Cloth after drying (3 hours).
Allow about 300 ml / coat and per seat.

3- Finishing : to prevent the drying out of Nubuck leather under the effect of the dye,  avoid the risks of colour loss and to restore the pile, we recommend to brush it with the Cleaning Sponge Suede Nubuck SAPHIR and finish wih an application of Rénovétine SAPHIR Spray. Allow about 200 ml per seat.

In case of colour discharge after all these operations, use Stop Color Saphir from time to time.
