Teak Care

To care for or renovate your teak furniture or terraces, Valmour recommends to use Teak Oil AVEL and proceed according to the following steps:

1- Wood preparation : the wood must be clean and dry before application

- Grey wood: to remove greyness caused by the passage of time, you can either sand with Fine Glass Paper (120, then 180) and dust, or use Bleach Stain Remover LOUIS XIII (recommended for important black smudges) and afterwards rinse with water and let dry thoroughly.

- Dirty wood: to remove non-greasy stains, use the Bleach Stain Remover LOUIS XIII, for greasy stains (sebum) use the Wood Cleaner/Grease Remover LOUIS XIII followed by an application of Terre de Sommières AVEL.

-
Painted or waxed wood : strip with Wood Cabinet Stripper LOUIS XIII.

2- Wood treatment : apply Teak Oil AVEL according to recommandations with the soft  Flat Brush. Wipe off the excess as you go along using the Varnish Pad Louis XIII.

It is important not to overload the product, to avoid dripping. This product is very rich and should be applied in small quantities.

With repeated use, the wood recovers a warm and natural tone.

To eliminate surplus product, use Wax & Dirt Remover Louis XIII, see below.
