Exotic Wood Care

To care for or renovate your exotic wooden furniture or terraces (Teak, Rosewood, Sandalwood, Boxwood, Merbau, Massaranduba...), Valmour recommends to use Teak Oil AVEL and proceed according to the following steps:

1- Wood preparation : the wood must be clean and dry before application :

Dirty or grey wood: to remove dirt or greyness caused by the passage of time, you can:

- either sand with Fine Glass Paper (120 followed by 180) and dust,

- or use Bleach Stain Remover LOUIS XIII (recommended for important black smudges) and afterwards rinse with a water jet of limited pressure. Then let dry thoroughly and sand down again, if necessary, with Steel Wool Louis XIII 0000 (in case of risen wood fibers).
Painted or waxed wood : strip with Wood Cabinet Stripper LOUIS XIII.

2- Wood treatment : apply Teck Oil AVEL according to recommandations with the soft Flat Brush and wipe with the  Wax and Varnish Applicator Pad Louis XIII  as you go along to prevent any product accumulation. With repeated use, the wood will take on a warm and natural shade.
To eliminate surplus product, use Wax & Dirt Remover Louis XIII, see below.
