To paint or repaint steel, Valmour proposes different types of products. We recommend to proceed according to the following steps:

A- THOROUGH PREPARATION OF THE SURFACE
- Rust elimination : if the surface ist rusty, eliminate superficial non adhering or crumbly rust by brushing or sanding. If afterwards there still remains visible rust residue, use  Stop Rust Converter Valmour (which deteriorates to the detriment of the rust, therefore the protection is in proportion to the quantity of product applied). Without visible rust residue, it is useless to apply  Stop Rust, you can start to paint dierectly. After sanding the metal is exposed and fragile : you need to paint it within 24 hours.
- Stripping : if necessary, eliminate previous coats of paint by brushing or sanding them or by using a stripper: Gel Stripper DECAPBIO 2 VALMOUR
- Grease elimination : Apply paint only onto a clean, dry and completely greaseless surface. To eliminate grease, you can use acetone or our DILUVAL.

B- FINISHING
This is the actual painting, which will give the final appearance to the surface. We propose 2 distinctive methods:
1) Monocomponent formula with a ready-to-use paint:
Choose between 3 different appearances:
- matt: use Triplemat FLAMBO
- satiny : use TOLEMAIL Special Ironwork
- shiny : use Super Shiny Lacquer FLAMBO
This is the most practical solution, of very good quality for the demanding non-professional.
Afterwards, it is possible to complete the finishing with a protecting varnish to increase the lifespan of the paint, and thereby prolonging the intervals between renovations: use Marine Varnish Louis XIII. This step is optional.

3- PROTECTION :
This step is optional and allows to complete the finishing by adding a protective varnish to increase the life span of the paint, and thereby prolonging the intervals between renovation.
Use MARINE VARNISH LOUIS XIII

2- Professional formula with bi-component epoxy and polyurethane products:

 - first apply Valmour Rust Stop Converter

  - then cover with our Laquer paint omnilaque VALMOUR

This is the most qualitative solution, a little more complex to apply, but giving a perfect result and the most durable over time.
