To renovate an old, colourless, dirty or scratched varnish, Valmour proposes the following adapted products:
1 - To eliminate dirt, use the Venetian Patina LOUIS XIII. It polishes and gives back shine. Also very useful for hardware ( handles, locks, split hinges etc...) Let dry for 10 minutes, then shine with a soft Chamois Cotton Cloth.
2 - To easily and quickly eliminate scratches frequently present on varnished furniture, use the Retouch Pen LOUIS XIII. After re-staining with the pen, apply a coat of neutral Touch Up Varnish LOUIS XIII.
3 - To renovate varnish discoulored by sun or moon light (and/or scratched) use the Touch Up Varnish LOUIS XIII which will allow you to eliminate the scratches without having to strip and will give back to the varnish its original brilliance and shade. It is advisable to first lightly sand the varnish with the Steel Wool LOUIS XIII N°0000, remove the wax layer with the Wax Remover LOUIS XIII if the varnish has been waxed and to remove any dust. Use a flat, supple and clean Brush to apply a fine even coat of Touch Up Varnish LOUIS XIII in neutral or in the colour of your wood. Let dry for 6 hours. Repeat the operation if necessary. T
The use of Touch Up Varnish LOUIS XIII is indicated if the varnish is not too damaged, and in this case will permit to avoid a complete renovation.
