To treat a newly laid or older stone floor, several steps and different products are essential :
1 - Preparation
Cleaning, Stripping :
Before any other treatment, dirt and previously applied products must be removed to give back to the stone its original appearance.
The Wax and Dirt Remover LOUIS XIII is a highly concentrated product which eliminates waxes, grease, dirty oil, grime...
The Emulsion Stripper AVEL is recommended before using the Varnishing Emulsion AVEL for the first time. Easy efficient self-action, eliminates up to 10 coats of self-shining emulsions.
. End of job cleaning:
New or certain old floor tiles frequently show white stains due to rests of cement or lime, or to risings of cement, lime, calcium or saltpetre forming white veils. Use the following 2 products to eliminate them :
* the Acid Based Remover LOUIS XIII is an extra- powerful product which also eliminates rust and oil while protecting the joints. Can be used on sandstone or natural acid-resistent stone.
And :
* the White Stain Eliminator LOUIS XIII which, in addition, nourishes, beautifies and protects the floor tiles.
2- Treatment
Water-Proofing:
To protect your floors against water, oil, wine ...ect. stains, oils, wines..., Valmour proposes 2 solutions with 2 different products:
- no change of appearance of the stones after the treatment: choose the Water Repellant Anti-Stain Impregnator LOUIS XIII. It is the basic treatment for all porous floors, which includes most of the interior or exterior natural stones. In-depth waterproofing action, while preserving the original natural appearance of the treated stone.
We recommend this product because it is solvent-based which makes easy to apply. It does not contain linseed oil and does not modify the original appearance of the treated stone. Very efficient, your floors will be permanently protected against water, oil, and wine stains etc...
- a wet appearance after the treatment: choose the Terrazo Sealer SODERSOL, which is also very esy to apply. A bit more costly, it gives a flattering light wet appearance to your floor which will intensify its colours.
If you have treated your floor before with the White Stain Eliminator, wait for about 10 days before applying the Anti-Stain Impregnator.
