Oiling a Wooden Floor

To oil and care for an oiled wooden floor, Valmour recommends Nordic Oil AVEL. Easy application, embellishes and protects the floor while preserving its natural appearance. It enhances the wood grain and protects your floor against dust and humidity. It is non-greasy and non-slip.

Apply the Nordic Oil in 2 coats with the help of a Brush or a Roller. Dilute the first coat with 15% of White Spirit. Work on small surfaces and wipe thoroughly with a DIY Cloth in circular movements as you go along (see below).

Leave to dry for 6 hours and sand with Glass Paper 180 if necessary.

Repeat for the application of the second coat.

Leave to dry for 12 hours.

Depending on the condition of the surface to be treated, the wood might need a preparation:

- raw wood: apply directly as indicated above.
- varnished or painted wood: sand to recover the raw wood, then polish with Glass Paper 180.
- waxed wood: remove all traces of wax with the Wax Remover LOUIS XIII and Steel Wool LOUIS XIII N° 0, then sand to recover the raw wood and polish with Glass Paper 180.

For easy maintenance, use the Real Black Soap LOUIS XIII and apply with the Rotary Mop below.
