To prevent leather dryness and to protect it from exterior agressions, in-depth nourishment is essential, a treatment made even more necessary because of the finishing products used by modern shoe makers.
Leather beeing more and more pigmented, the nourishing waxes like beeswax have increasing difficulty to penetrate and act in depth, which, in the end, can provoke serious cracking.

Valmour proposes four products :

1) The Protective Oil Saphir HP Spray is highly concentrated in natural animal oil (15% of the active product) and does not contain paraffin, which is the explanation for its effectiveness. Its extreme fluidity permits deep penetration and in-depth action. We recommend to treat your leather from when its new: in the beginning of autumn and at winter's end. Also spray the inside lining. If you follow this advice, your leathers will have a longer life.

2) Our Grease Saphir Médaille d'Or is a genuine traditional grease containing 15% of natural animal oil. Like the Saphir HP Protect Oil, it offers remarkable nourishing, softening and waterproofing qualities.

3) Our Grease Ouraline is less fluid and has a lower fat content than the Grease Médaille d'Or but permits to add shine.

4) The Super Invulner Médaille d'Or is the result of the  latest progress in waterproofing techniques. Use the Super Invulner Médaille d'Or before you wear your shoes for the first time to protect them from water, grease and snow stains. Renew the treatment whenever necessary, in particular before going out when it is raining. Its formula is non-greasy, totally invisible and without danger and lets the leather breathe.

Don't forget your soles!
Grease them regularly with the Grease Médaille d'Or (or the Softener Etalon Noir with neats foot oil for the purists) to nourish, waterproof and soften them and prevent cracking. Your feet will be protected from rising water levels due to rain. In return, don't forget to use a shoetree to store your shoes and never wear the same shoes two days in a row.
