AdviceCement Floor Tile Cleaning, Stripping or Stain RemovingFor cleaning, stain-removing, preparing a floor before treatment or stripping your cement tiles, Valmour recommends the following products :
1- Stripping:
To eliminate coats of sealer, varnish or paint, choose between the Liquid or the Gel Stripper.
2- Cleaning:
To recover the original appearance of your floor, or before any treatment, remove all traces of dirt and previously used products.
- The T.Solver, which is very efficient to eliminate traces of glue, silicone or plastic materials. 3- End of job cleaning : - On cement tile floors which have just been laid, it is delicate to use acid to eliminate the white veils left after jointing. But it is possible to use the Acid Based Remover LOUIS XIII by diluting it in 50 % of cold water, and after having tested it before on a hidden part of your floor.
It is also possible to sand the surface with Sand Paper thin 180 (by hand, with a sander or with a monobrush equipped with a "mesch" disc) to eliminate these risings and reduce the porosity. Afterwards, vacuum thoroughly to remove the dust.
- On old floors, use the Carrelax to scrub clean.
- To eliminate resistent white veils which reappear constantly, use the White Stain Eliminator LOUIS XIII which will also embellish your floor and can be used for regular care.
4- Stain removing :
Localised fatty stains can be removed with Terre de Sommière AVEL. If the stains are old, warm them up before with a hair dryer or soak them with the Wood-Floor &Tile Cleaner / Grease Remover Louis XIII for easier removal. To eliminate rebel calcarious stains use the Marble Polisher and its Polishing Pad. Test before carefully, but this product permits to polish without scratching.
Remarks : Once your cement tiles are perfectly clean, it is advisable to treat them with a water/oil repellent to protect them against accidental penetration of water, oil and grease, wine, coffee.... Choose between the Terrazo Sealer green formula, which will give a wet appearance to your floor, or the OLEOSEALER (neutral appearance). Also consult the advice card "Taking Care of Cement Tiles".
