Combined varnish and wax finish intended for furniture made of fruitwood (cherry, walnut...) or smooth grained wood (mahogony, beech...). It revives the grain and gives a finish with a nice satin shine. To enhance the shade of the wood, apply Woodwork Stain LOUIS XIII or concentrated Nut Husk LOUIS XIII.
Proceed according to the following three steps :
1- Base preparation :
With the help of Cottonstock LOUIS XIII, apply a coat of Insulating Wood Finish LOUIS XIII. Let dry for 4 hours, then repeat the operation. Let dry for 8 hours and lightly finish with Steel Wool LOUIS XIII N°0000. To accentuate the wood patina apply Judean Bitumen LOUIS XIII when dry.
2- Base Filling :
Apply 2 coats of Patina Gum Lacquer LOUIS XIII with Cottonstock LOUIS XIII with a 30 mn interval. If necessary, soften with Steel Wool LOUIS XIII between coats. Easy to use, great filling power due to the high resin content of the Patina Gum Lacquer. Use at a temperature between 18° and 20°C.
3- Finish :
Apply an even coat of The Antiquarian's Patina AVEL with a Cloth (and with a Brush for the reliefs and mouldings). Let dry for 2 hours, then polish with a Tampico Brush LOUIS XIII and shine with a wool cloth afterwards. This finish protects the wood and gives a nice shine as well as a natural scent of turpentine.
